If you have N6PR1 installed and Mozilla, Mozilla's sidebar will try to open and load AOL's IM Buddy list. This looks like a conflict between Netscape and Mozilla, so I'm not sure whos problem it is. Or if there are plans to put instant messanger in Mozilla, the buddy list never loads.

What OS? What Mozilla Build? More details please! Is Mozilla and 6.0 open concurrently?
Win98, build 200052808, and this bug occurs if i have n6pr1 running or not. N6 and Mozilla must be sharing a file about "My sidebar" since Mozilla is trying to load "Buddy List" This probably does not occur on computers running only Mozilla.

This is caused because mozilla and netscape6 use the same profile.

Reassigning 50 Sidebar bugs to Matt. I was told this was going to be done shortly about two months ago, but it clearly hasn't been. I think that's long enough for all these bugs to remain assigned to nobody. Feel free to filter all this spam into the trashcan by looking for this string in the message body: ducksgoquack

The buddy list will never load. The panels.rdf entry points to a non-existent chrome file: <RDF:Description about="urn:sidebar:panel:im-panel"> <NC:title>Buddy List</NC:title> <NC:content>chrome://aim/content/SidebarPanel.xul</NC:content> Probably what is needed is better error handling in sidebar, which is actually another bug...

Win98 Build ID: 2001091303 Has anyone thought of having Mozilla and Netscape >6.1 use different profiles? Doesn't this seem the logical choice? I, too, have installed Netscape 6.1 (and since uninstalled because of (in)stability issues it seemed to bring up) and Mozilla 0.9.4 and the Buddy List panel is on my sidebar, but never loads. It would be a nice feature, though, imo. I also think it would do away w/ other problems caused by the two *completely separate* browsers sharing the same profile. (Was the profile sharing done to cut programming time? It doesn't make much sense to me, but that's my .02)

-> INVALID Don't share the same profile for Netscape and Mozilla. This is documented in release notes for both Netscape 7.x and Mozilla.
