Apparently opening the download manager results in a long beach ball (20-30 seconds) on macbooks (according to sdwilsh and stephend).
I can't reproduce on my iBook or windows desktop though..
According to stephend, the build from bug 408745 comment #7 gets rid of the beach ball.
