After you use the history menu to open a new page in a new window, new tab or blank tab, you should still be use the back forward buttons with regards to what they did when you left the page.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Search for something on Google
2. Choose one of the links
3. Exit that tabs
4. Reload that page in a new tab
5. Press back button
Actual Results:
Doesn't do anything

Expected Results:
GO back to search results
I'm fairly certain the behavior you request was not included in a new tab when the feature was created, for privacy reasons among others. Full history can be accessed from several places.

Als,o do you know that you can re-open closed tabs via History > Recently Closed Tabs? If you do so, the history of that tab is maintained.

Isn't this a dupe of bug 18808, via bug 324787 ?
Perhaps, but that bug has made no progress in over 8 years. It's probably a won't fix too. I'm sure marking it as such would create quite a tussle. I suppose I need to go dig up resolved Tab development bugs that touched on this issue, though may not have been directly filed on it.
