User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b3pre) Gecko/2007122505 Minefield/3.0b3pre Build Identifier: What happens: Disable cookies for SUMO and try to register. When you click next, it says "Wrong registration code". What should happen: Checking if cookies are enabled beforehand. When logging in with cookies disabled, it throws the correct error message when it fails to set the cookies ("You have to enable cookies to be able to login to this site"). Since cookies need to be set for the registration code stuff, it could be even thrown before the user fills out any data). Easier fix: Change "Wrong registration code" to something like: The registration code coudln't be verified: * You mistyped the code * You have cookies disabled [Link to: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Options+window#Cookies ] Please go back, reload and try again. Reproducible: Always

going through old mail and found this. Has this been taken care of? it seems simple enough and people are going to get frustrated if they know they typed the code correctly.

I just tried registering and it worked even with cookies disabled (probably fixed by reCaptcha); marking as fixed. Logging in still needs cookies enabled, but there's no misleading error message and addon and theme developers are advanced enough to realize that cookies need to be enabled if "nothing" happens upon logging in. I won't open a new bug for this.

Oh wait, this is for SUMO and not AMO. Sorry, my bad I should read more carefully. The issue still exists.

Fix should be simple enough, targeting at 0.6.3 as per Laura to get this a spot on the radar.

Verified FIXED; http://support-stage.mozilla.org/tiki-register.php throws up "Error You have to enable cookies to be able to login to this site". (That should read "log in", but that's a quibble, and a separate bug.)
Status: RESOLVED → VERIFIED
Removing "push-needed" keyword, since this was just pushed tonight.
