If you open enough tabs to get the overflow mechanism to kick in, the first and/or last tab can end up being displayed cut off. I don't know if this is the intended look, but IMHO either the tab bar should always show whole tabs or have some clever trick to display the first and last tab with a fading look to the side.

I don't see overflow scroll buttons in those screenshots. Does they not appear at all? If a scroll button does appear, does clicking on the scroll button move the tab so that it is fully visible?

Nope, those are at the end of the tab bar, and there is nothing to click (clicking where the buttons should be does not make the tab fully visible).
