410237 - It just keeps "waiting" to FIND facebook

I used to use netscape, but half the flash games crashed it out.  I switched to firefox, and I'm on the 3rd build of it that will not load facebook.com.  It just keeps looking and "waiting" for the page.  I'm tired of using one browser for browsing and having to load up netscape everytime I want to load up facebook, which I do MANY times a day.  I'm close to just deleting all the mozilla stuff and going back to opera.


Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.EVERY time I try to open the facebook page, it just keeps looking for it.
2.just put www.facebook.com in the field for urls and wait....
3.
Actual Results:  
It will either take FOREVER to load it, or it just doesn't load it.

Expected Results:  
taken me to the login page

No problem here going to http://www.facebook.com/ with Firefox 2.0.0.11 on Windows XP.

This bug was originally reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.6 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.8 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
