Tabs resize twice when closing or opening a tab causes the close buttons to appear on or disappear from all tabs.  First they resize because of the change in the number of tabs, and then they resize because of the addition/subtraction of the buttons.  The result is a funky-looking "double-jump", which you can see in the attached screencast.  The change would look smoother if tabs were only resized once in this case.
