It's a bit confusing that the password (and pass phrase) is remembered even if login fails. At least the password is known to be wrong, so it just encourages you reenter the same bad password, or try to edit a string that you can't even see what it is.
Login can fail on 100 different reason - from offline of your pc and temporary down of server to incorrect server address and wrong certificate.
I pass it with mail accounts in past: one server or link fail - and you have to remember password.
Could we make it so that it doesn't remember if the reason we failed was due to bad password? Or make it only remember once there has been at least one successful login?
I'll look into this as part of the reworking of the first run and reconnect experience. Not clear on what the correct behaviour here is yet.

I'm inclined to wontfix this bug. Other software I've used (e.g., my mail client, my im client, etc) remembers the password even when the error is due to an auth failure. As long as we make it clear that the password is being rejected, I don't see it as a problem that we remember the last value used.
