User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11 In both the right panel of the Bookmarks manager (panel containing list of items), and the first list I check in Firefox options (tools / options / content / block popup windows / exceptions), I get the same bug. The bug occurs when I have activated the accessibility option "sticky keys", and does not occur when I deactivate Sticky Keys. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sticky_keys). I expect Ctrl+Click and Shift+Click to behave as normal, permitting multiple selections of elements. However Ctrl+Click is ignored when I press the Ctrl key, let go, and then click on an element. Also, if I select an element A, hold on to the Ctrl key, click on another element B then B is not selected. However, if I do this again (hold on to the Ctrl key, click on B) then B becomes selected along with A. BTW I prefer having sticky keys on, so it would be nice to have this bug fixed! Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Activate sticky keys. To have the same settings as I use, go to the sticky keys parameters (options? It's called "paramètres pour les touches rémanentes" in my french XP) modal dialogue, and deselect all checkboxes except for the last one. 2. Open Bookmarks Manager, make sure there are at least two bookmarks A and B. Click on A to select it. 3. Press the Ctrl key and let go. Then click on B. Actual Results: A stays selected Expected Results: A and B should both be selected When correcting, please deal with both the Control and the Shift key.

This bug was originally reported on Firefox 2.x or older, which is no longer supported and will not be receiving any more updates. I strongly suggest that you update to Firefox 3.6.6 or later, update your plugins (flash, adobe, etc.), and retest in a new profile. If you still see the issue with the updated Firefox, please post here. Otherwise, please close as RESOLVED > WORKSFORME http://www.mozilla.com http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+mode

Just tested this with firefox 3.6.6. If I keep the Control key or shift key pressed down then there is no problem. So things are better than they were for an earlier version. However, this bug should stay open: "Reproducible/Steps to reproduce/Actual results/Expected results" as reported above are still the valid. Basically I expect the shift & control keys to be "sticky", but they aren't. There ought to be the same behaviour as when selecting items in Windows Explorer, when the "sticky keys" option is selected.

MacOS uses the shift key for multiple selections, but has the same bug in Firefox 50.
