I changed the setting to save the file to "My Downloads" folder instead yet Firefox continued to save the file on my desktop without asking even though I specifically changed the setting to do so. This seems important as any link I click on while on the web could be automatically saved... Thank you for looking into this. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Click on a .doc file link with the Firefox browser 2.Settings within this path: Firefox>Preferences>Main>Downloads are not followed. 3.
Summary: Firefox is not respond to settings in Firefox>Preferences>Main>Downloads → Firefox does not respond to settings in Firefox>Preferences>Main>Downloads
This is happening in the test version of Firefox 3.1 "Minefield" All builds.
How to fix: about:config search "download" (w/o quotes) change browser.download.folderList = 0 change browser.download.lastDir = 1 This seemed to have fix it for now in 3.1b2pre Minefield
