when reading a message in first level mail folder, I can click and open an url in a bowser window.
if the message is in a second (or more) level folder, the click on the url has no effect.
I created some folders of secondary level (or more) and I have set some filters that distribute the appropriate messages in those folders

there are two possible bypass,
1 
I have to copy the link of this url and paste it in the address of a bowser window

I can also make a copy of the message in a primary level folder (I have enough of the mess in those folders)

yes it can be reproduced with v1.1.9

Anything in the Error Console ?
Did you try a new profile ?

hm, no idea where that error might come from. Unless...

The login name you used when you had the error has write permission on everything in its profile (including the cache), doesn't it? and is allowed to establish crypted (HTTPS) connections to the outside, and in particular to bugzilla.mozilla.org, using SeaMonkey, isn't it? If you aren't sure, and you are using a firewall, check its settings. If it knows about an obsolete version of SeaMonkey you may have to remove that firewall entry then reallow it when it asks if the new version may access the Internet.

The next release (2.0) has come and gone: the current "stable" release is 2.0.11 while the codebase "reunk" is 2.1b1 (beta release) and 2.1b2pre (nightlies).Jean-François, would you mind retrying?

thank you for asking questions about this bug:
using 2.0.10 for now, this bug is not alive any more
for 2.1* I have no resources for testing as there is no guarantee of interfering one release on the other, and vice versa see [Bug 469735] seamonkey steals default mailer if not asked 
About write permissions, I don't believe to this, as this machine under XP is managed basically, only one account with administrator rights (shame...)
for example, no problem with https bugzilla links
I don't believe to a problem with the soft firewall I use the most basically I can
I suggest to close as solved in this release (2.0*), with no better information about it
