ff3b2 will crash while opening the program, ff3 will open for about 2 min then quit and will bring up the crash report window

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. download
2. open dmg file
3. double click on ff3
Actual Results:  
after opening ff3 (double clicking) it quits

Expected Results:  
opened with out quiting

on a PPC 400 MHz, not sure if that helps

Please look in
  ~/Library/Application Support/Firefox/Crash Reports/submitted/
to find the ID's of some of these crashes, and add them to the bug.

Yeah, I get the EXACT same thing happening with FF3, from when I downloaded the first version on release day to the latest build, 3.0.5.

any progress on this bug? Have you tried starting in safe mode and getting a crash report id?

It's great that you reported the bug, but we need to move the bug toward some  resolution with your help.  Please provide additional information using the previous detailed hints mentioned in the bug.

Sincere apologies for not replying sooner, but I have my email address for bugzilla separate from my main.

Anyway

For all intents and purposes, this bug has been resolved for me:  The most recent beta release's predecessor, FF3.1b3, works fine on my system other than bug#485896, which atm I haven't tried to fix on my own system, got exams coming up >  >

The cause of this bug is that Firefox 3 is disagreeing with Shapeshifter, when shapeshifter is excluding ff, it works fine.  But I don't really want to lose the gui when I use the internet which I do quite a bit of the time...
