I think it would be nice to clean up the linux default theme a bit, as there are various icons that are no longer being used (partly due to usage of GTK icons):

browser/safebrowsing/close16x16.png:
This is still used once in browser-protection.css, but I guess we should be using the stock icon gtk-close there?

browser/tabbrowser/tab-arrow-end.png,
browser/tabbrowser/tab-arrow-start.png,
help/Toolbar.png,
help/Toolbar-rtl.png,
mozapps/downloads/downloadIcon.png,
global/menu/*,
global/splitter/*:
From what I can tell, they are all unused.

global/arrow/*,
global/checkbox/*,
global/radio/*:
Still used in some places according to the CSS. Can we get rid of those by using the "native" GTK look?

global/printPageSetup.css might be able to be removed as well
Ah, yes, as well as

global/icons/Print-preview.png,
global/icons/Landscape.png,
global/icons/Portrait.png
As far as I can tell, all the items in comment 0 have been removed over the years. Looks like the print page setup items are still required though.
