Is there a special trick in the registry to change it consistently for all applications to open URL´s in Seamonkeyonly? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Set Seamonkey as default browser in preferences 2.clicked OK Actual Results: URL´s I´m clicking in other applications still open other browser, not Seamonkey Expected Results: Open Seamonkey Why does the setting for default browser doesn´t work for me?

Do you work as a restricted user or as admin (or standard user)?

This bug looks very much like bug 376465, except your are on WinXP whereas all other (duplicated) reports there are on WVista. Let's see what happens there first...
Depends on: 376465
Version: unspecified → SeaMonkey 1.1 Branch

I have seen something similar too under WinXP, when an different Browser than IE was set as Default before SeaMonkey was set as Default-Browser. Reset the Settings for default Applications back to WinXP (MS) defaults with IE as Default-Browser, and set SeaMonkey after this as Default-Browser has resolved the Problem for me. Note, as I am working with Windows, I have restarted the System after Reset the Settings to Windows-Default. ;-)

Reinhardt, did you still got the reported Problem with the current Release 1.1.9? Have you tried to reset the Settings for "Programmzugriff und -standards" back to the WinXP defaults using an Admin-Account, then reboot the System and try to register SeaMonkey as Default-Browser again in your System (with Admin-Account)? In that case please take a look into the Windows-Explorer, "Extras" "Ordneroptionen" "Dateitypen" and submit your current entry for "URL:HTTP (HyperText Transfer Protocol" here.
