fallout from bug 392788. See last comment for details.
"Could we revert to the original image?" by this I mean, could we turn off this VM and go back to the original centos5-01 on the original VMHost until we can figure out what's causing these problems?
Removed one virtual CPU. If there's still an issue, ping me and I'll power up the original source image.
