I've just tried out the new version of Proto from AMO. I'm using Firefox 3.0b2.
Do I need to use trunk or wait for beta 3?

With Proto, the left part of the location bar looks bad with HTTP. With HTTPS
it looks fine.

I would like to see the keyhole Back and Forward buttons. So I did look at the
Personalize toolbar, which you can see in the attachment. But I guess the
keyhole button format is not available yet.

A side issue, the awesome URL bar add a space inside found words at the cursor
location. In the URL I type: "plan|" ("|" = cursor) the results shows
"http://plan et.mozilla.org.

OK. Tested out Nightly version:

HTTP/HTTPS issue. FIXED.
Awsome location bar extra spaces issue. FIXED.

Only a single issue remains.

1. Right-click on the Toolbar.
2. Choose Customize...
3. Scroll to Send URL button.

The Send URL button is an oversize sprite showing all proto toolbar buttons.

I will investigate to see if an extension causes this behavior.

Extension investigation done!

"Hyperwords 3.6" breaks the Customize toolbar dialog as described previously. I'll leave that extension disable.

I am also marking this bug as WONTFIX.

Actually, WONTFIX means "this is a bug in Firefox, but for one reason or another, we woudn't accept a fix even if someone wrote the code." Mean though it sounds, the resolution you were looking for was INVALID.
