With the new integrated add-ons UI, the list of recommended add-ons seems to be retrieved from the AMO server rather frequently. This both takes the user's time, and uses AMO bandwidth..
I don't know how often the list of recommended updates is updated, nor do I know the mechanism by which add-ons are added to/removed from the list (is it automated or a human decision) but I was thinking maybe we should cache the list and have it update itself once a day/week/whatever.
(The caching would work both if there was a small list of recommended extensions that were always shown, or a large list of recommended extensions that Firefox randomly chose a subset from when displaying its list.)

IMO that would make the bug invalid. Updating status.
