I fixed these (mostly typos, thanks for pointing them out, stephend) in SVN r9936. Please wait for the reskin branch to update before validating.

Will do; if I file a bug on production not validating either, will someone fix and commit it in our next minor push?

Yes. At first sight, this looks like most complaints are XML-style self-closing tags which don't hurt, but don't comply with HTML, obviously.
