Details
From bug 408116 (where the restart button was moved to the notification bar). The restart button (and notification bar) disappears even when it is still needed. A way to make the 'restart' button disappear is as follows: 1. Install a new theme or extension. 2. Before pressing 'Restart', switch back to the theme (or extension) page. 3. The notification disappears. 4. Switch back to 'Installation' pane: now still there is no restart button. This is confusing, as it looks like that restart is no longer needed... So, at least the button and notification should remain visible as long as it is needed (i.e. till FF is restarted).

I am unable to reproduce this issue Can you provide further details, exactly what add-on were you installing, from where. What platform are you testing? Can you provide your build ID.

Hm, I also not able to produce it anymore. Even if I close the notification bar, and the switch back to the install pane, the notification bar now re-appears including the restart button.
