This is a tracker bug for releasing Firefox 3 es-ES.

This bug is not that detailed, but as we get particular work items, they should block this bug for tracking, and better discoverability.
Pike, do you manually edit some files to get es-ES in FF3b3?

Cause we have some automatic updates of b2->b3 and there is some errors.
Guillermo, I'm helping Pike out for the next few days. The basic process is that the alllocales file gets edited, then the build team uses that to generate the builds for the release.

What kind of errors are seen after the update? we should investigate those in more detail, to figure out if there are problems in the update code that need to be fixed. I installed es-ES beta3 this afternoon, and it seems installing from scratch for the first time the build runs ok and looks good with the exception of the one problem with the XML error in about: credits. The problem should be ok for beta.

Ok, if about:credits is OK, the beta3 for es-ES is great!

I see numerous accesskeys that I have changed the following day you branched ff3b3 (a Monday).

So, beta3 should be fine.

Thanks!
Mic, is there a productization bug filed for es-ES?

nope as we agreed in an IRC chat from Dec 18 that there would be no changes. Guillermo, can you re-confirm please. last check i saw that terra.es was being investigated for mailto protocol, any progress there?

I think we should track a "no" as well. Looking at what's in CVS, we should at least track the changes to wikipedia-es.xml, and there's a removal of creativecommons, http://bonsai-l10n.mozilla.org/cvsview2.cgi?diff_mode=context&whitespace_mode=show&file=list.txt&branch=&root=/l10n&subdir=/l10n/es-ES/browser/searchplugins&command=DIFF_FRAMESET&rev1=1.4&rev2=1.5.
Hi!

Well, I was checking in terra.es website to contact some responsibles of the site. The only way to contact them is by phone, but it's only for customer's help and nothing to "contact" owners. As I said to Mic in FOSDEM, Terra is owned by Telefonica, the biggest telecommunications bussiness in Spain...

About searchplugins, I think that if Wikipedia doesn't change their plugin anymore, there won't be any changes to wikipedia-es.xml.

Regarding creativecommons, mmm, Pike, don't you say to remove all creativecommons searchplugins from l10n? (But I can't remembered when)

Thanks!
wp changed, at least the shortname changed to "Wikipedia (es)".

Regarding removing creativecommons from l10n, I kind-of said that. I was talking about the xml file itself, as it's picked up from mozilla/browser/locales/en-US/searchplugins, no matter whether the localization has a file creativecommons.xml or not. That's done at build time.

That doesn't affect whether creativecommons shows up in list.txt or not.

The same story goes for the google.xml file, and the others in en-US that localizations use.
per comment #6, ok, creating another tracking bug for comments 6 through 8
and to address comment #7 and 8 regarding creative commons, there have been some recent bugs for keeping CC to better support them. i'll post that in the web services tracking bug
