The grey background banding on windows is still (a) too dark and (b) doesn't really match any other system colors used. I asked faaborg about this, and he suggested "for Vista we could potentially match the shade of grey used in library applications (media player, photo gallery) which is (238,243,250). Not sure what to do on XP off the top of my head." I tried swapping for this color in an XP screenshot (attached), and it looks works better than what we have now, too. So, I'd suggest that we use 238,243,250 on XP and Vista. (he also pointed out that, on mac, our blue is 1 point off, with a G of 242 instead of 243, but I haven't the heart to open a bug for that :)
Actually - hold on this -- we might have some better platform-specific colors.
