User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b2) Gecko/2007121120 Firefox/3.0b2 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b2) Gecko/2007121120 Firefox/3.0b2 after about an hour of use, ff seems to take up more than its fair share of the processor. it isnt uncommon to see 95% load from firefox alone, after the browser has been open for over an hour. I can close ff and re-open all the sites i previously had open, and the cpu load is rarely above the mid 20s. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open firefox 2.open multiple tabs 3.leave it open for more than an hour. Actual Results: pc slowed to a crawl. Authoring in flash becomes very slow and unresponsive. Expected Results: the software should have stayed in the 20s range for processor load. default theme, mostly default settings. about:buildconfig Build platform target i686-pc-mingw32 Build tools Compiler Version Compiler flags cl 14.00.50727 -TC -nologo -W3 -Gy -Fd$(PDBFILE) cl 14.00.50727 -GR- -TP -nologo -Zc:wchar_t- -W3 -Gy -Fd$(PDBFILE) Configure arguments --enable-application=browser --enable-update-channel=beta --enable-optimize --disable-debug --disable-tests --enable-update-packaging --enable-official-branding

Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X 10.4; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.5) Gecko/2008120121 Firefox/3.0.5 Apple Powerbook G4 667MHZ PPC 1Gb RAM Hogs processor immediately on loading. Deafult web page is www.google.com. Fan starts within minutes of loading Firefox and laptop becomes hot. CPU usage hovers around 80% continually whilst Firefox is loaded even when it is quiescent. Although Firefox may be quiescent, incoming data from network is significant. Similar activity using Safari yields <5% processor usage and when quiescent processor usage drops to 0%with no incoming data from the network.

do you see this problem with current beta of 3.1 and flash v10, and started in safe mode? http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-beta.html RubyRed - your isssue is not likely to be related to this bug. Please retest with v3.1 and file a new bug if you still see a problem.
