User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b3) Gecko/2008020514 Firefox/3.0b3 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b3) Gecko/2008020514 Firefox/3.0b3 The bookmark icon for moving a previous updated Gran Paradiso Alpha build to Firefox beta 3, retains the Gran Paradiso Earth Icon. when will it be a firefox icon? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. install a GP alpha build (a1 through a8). bookmark a URL to bookmarks toolbar (eg. espn.com) 2. update to Beta 3 via betatest update channel 3. Open newly updated Beta 3 build, and grab the bookmark in toolbar and drag it to the desktop. 4. Verify the icon on the desktop is the old gran paradiso icon. Actual Results: Bookmark icon on desktop after updating to beta 3, should be a firefox icon for the file. Expected Results: Bookmark icon is still a gran paradiso icon.

Not so fast Reed, this sounds like an issue with registering file types with Windows.

The icon you see on the desktop depends on what your default browser is. Which build is your default browser?
Comment 5•16 years ago

This can be caused by the icon being cached by the OS as well as by Bug 268512
Comment 6•16 years ago
|
||
note: Bug 268512 is actually a bug in the way MS Office doesn't check for changes to the DefaultIcon registry key after taking control of handling the icon. We try to workaround it in Bug 268512
