Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.click on arrow for drop down
2.drop down flashes quick and closes
3.Have to click on it and use arrow key
Actual Results:
the drop down list won't stay open
Expected Results:
I would like the drop down list to stay open and not just flash quick and close

Do you get the same problem in the Firefox safemode ?
Noting that this WFM, also. Can you also check that none of your keyboard's keys are "stuck"? (Give them all a quick tap.)
I don't know how to change Firefox to safemode. It isn't that the keys are stuck, it is the drop down menus that won't open when I click the arrow. I have to click on the arrow and then use the arrow key on my keyboard to scroll through the options. I used to be able to use my mouse to click the little arrow and the drop down list would open. Now I click the arrow and it flashes really quick like it is going to open, but then closes right away.
It works for me.
http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode gives you instructions on how to get to Firefox's safe mode. I suggest you print them out and follow them.

I expected that you don't know how to enable safemode.
You could just use google and search "firefox safemode" but I also didn't expect that you do that, that's the reason why I added the URL with exact instructions in comment #1
I asked about keys being stuck because that can cause this issue.
Changing summary to be more descriptive.
Summary: drop down menus → drop down menus do not open to display choices
Changed over to safe mode and restarted, still did not fix the problem
Ok, try making a new profile, following the instructions here: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles
If that works, we know it's something in your old profile and have a good idea where to look.
Also, when you used safe mode, did it still happen in safe mode or did you just restart?
I'm sorry about the delayed response, you really should try technical support for your issue, too, since they can walk you through a bunch of troubleshooting steps and help you figure out what may be causing your problem, whether it's Firefox code or an extension or a file in your profile or your settings.
Bugzilla is really not the best place to ask for technical support, it is a tracking system for actual bugs in various Mozilla products. If the problem only happens on your computer or with a particular website, you should look into technical support resources. A number of resources are available for Firefox at: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/ . In particular, you can get help with your question by searching the Knowledge base, or asking on our forums: http://support.mozilla.com/forum or using the newsgroup: mozilla.support.firefox or using the #firefox IRC chat room: irc://irc.mozilla.org/firefox
Since bugzilla is here to help developers improve the product, basic troubleshooting can be really helpful even if this really is a bug. The person working with you can help confirm the issue and help in writing a much more descriptive and helpful bug report so developers can more easily make the fix.
