I'm not sure if I have a bug or not. Firefox requested that I download updates. I did and installed them and then firefox stopped working. It tries to go to websites but it will never connect. I tried to uninstall and reinstall and it did the same thing. When I clicked on check for updates it says, "AUS: connection refused." I can still use explorer. The problem is completely with firefox.

This tends to be a problem with your Firewall, we've particularly noticed it with Kaspersky, if this is your Firewall delete the Firefox rules so they can be added again, more support is given here:
http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Configuring+Kaspersky+Internet+Security&bl=y
If you are running a different Firewall or not one at all, please give more details :).
And Norton Internet Security. Help is here:
http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Configuring+Norton+Internet+Security
Since this sounds like you need technical support, I'm closing this bug. Bugzilla is really not the best place to ask for technical support, it is a tracking system for actual bugs in various Mozilla products. If the problem only happens on your computer or with a particular website, you should look into technical support resources. A number of resources are available for Firefox at: http://support.mozilla.com/kb/ . In particular, you can get help with your question by searching the Knowledge base, or asking on our forums: http://support.mozilla.com/forum or using the newsgroup: mozilla.support.firefox or using the #firefox IRC chat room: irc://irc.mozilla.org/firefox
Please redirect your question to one of the above resources, you'll get a faster response. If this turns out to be a real bug, the person helping you will have more information about your system and how to reproduce it so when you reopen this bug, you can make it much more useful to the developers trying to improve Firefox.
