Rather than spend the time to make sure worldfirefoxday.com works with php5 and renders in FF3 we're going to just redirect all the domains (including the localized ones) to http://mozilla.com/firefox/

If it's easy to redirect the localized domains to the appropriate URLS (eg. diadefirefox.es to mozilla.com/es/firefox/) let's do that.  Otherwise don't include a locale and let mozilla.com do the detection.

Even though the site is going down, if anyone ever wants the code, it's available at http://svn.mozilla.org/projects/worldfirefoxday.com/

World Firefox Day is a part of Firefox 2. We've removed it from the about dialog UI in Firefox 3 (bug 411727), but it's still used in Firefox 2. I don't think we should kill this site until Firefox 2 has EOL'd, as users of Firefox 2 will expect this to work so they can show their friends and such that there names are "part of Firefox." You don't need to worry about getting it to display correctly on Firefox 3, so that's not an issue.

reed makes a good point that i hadn't considered while we were talking wil - can you belay the redirect until after fx3 is out and up to about 90% or so share of fx usage?

In that case closing as INVALID.  We can revisit this later this year.
