When I click on the "Check Now" button it says that Minefield is already the default browser but it's not.

I'm running both Firefox 2 (release) and Minefield (nightly)
My default browser should be Minefield but sometimes Firefox 2 takes over.

I'm now in the situation where Firefox 2 is the default browser and Check Now in Minefield reports saying it's already the default browser, which is wrong.

Do you need any information from the regedit to debug?

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b4pre) Gecko/2008021304 Minefield/3.0b4pre ID:2008021304

Perhaps the problem happens because the two programs have the same name (firefox.exe) ?

C:\\Program Files\\Mozilla\\nightly\\Mozilla Firefox\\firefox.exe
vs
C:\\Program Files\\Portable Apps\\FirefoxPortable\\App\\firefox\\firefox.exe

I'm attaching the two regedit files

regedit dump with Minefield as default browser

To test load the regedit_firefox into the registry and press Check Now in Minefield
When you say that Minefield says it's the default browser "but it's not", what test are you using to determine whether it's the default browser? This might be bug 281806...

I can see the in start Menu that it not the default browser. There it shows the Firefox 2 logo and not the Minefield logo.
Ah, ok. Not that bug, then.
