Machine: Windows XP Laptop
Using Minefield since four months, bug started around Feb-10, 2008


When I RIGHT-CLICK

(1) after selecting any text to copy OR
(2) to open a link into new tab 

Minefield simply crashes. Basically, any where on any web page, when you RIGHT-CLICK, Minefield ( Firefox ) simply crashes. Now most of the times after a crash, I get bug reporting window ( and I do report each time )but some times I don't.

This has started around Feb-10 or so. I'm using Minefield on this same Windows XP laptop for over four months without a problem.

1. Simply RIGHT-CLICK any where on any web page and Minefield 3.0b4pre crashes right away

Do you have the free download manager extension installed (it's buggy in old versions and is causing this problem) ?
Do you crash in the Firefox safemode (that you should do as first action when you have problems in firefox) ?

Many thanks for your reply. I just uninstalled "Free Download Manager" plugin from Firefox / Minefield 3.0b4pre addons and now Minefield is NOT crashing upon RIGHT-CLICK anymore.

It was crashing EVERY single time now I can't believe that it does not anymore.

If you are a developer or something at Mozilla, I guess you can pass this on somewhere so Minefield automatically prevents "Free Download Manager - Addon" from installing.

Fixed means that there changed something in the firefox source and this didn't happen in this case, marking invalid.
This should be fixed in the latest version of fdm.
