I noticed that whenever I try and load up google reader now, it takes forever. The browser locks up and becomes unresponsive and it takes a minute or two before it unhangs itself and loads the page.

Am seeing the same on both Windows and Linux.
Confirmed. I also see this with google docs as well.

It looks like the memory usage jumps by about 300MB when Firefox loads these web pages. My laptop doesn't have a lot of memory (384MB I think) so it spends the next minute or so just paging. My Linux desktop has more memory so the symptoms are less severe.

Seems to be fixed in 2008021704.

Yeah. They fixed some javascript errors in this build and it all seems fine and dandy now.
