The problem is that attempting to forward or reply to a specific message fails. A new comp window is created, but most of the message body from the original email is not included. To reproduce: - Open message (attached to this bug) - Attempt to reply to or forward message - Note that message body is not included in the comp window.

Have you checked mail source? Where is viewable "message body" strings in the original email? Data in "message body" part(=first text/plain part of multipart/mixed mail) consists of null lines only. See the mail with "View/Display Attachments Inline=unchecked".

Okay I am currently using shredder (nightlies) and yes I have updated versions. I am facing something similar to this. When i respond to a message i get the original message of maybe 1 line. And above that it will give me the caret to type (how it should). (i have it reply on top). This doesnt happen all the time, however, when it does happen it happens a few times in a row. Then I have to double click a particular message, then reply to that, and it will quote the original message correctly. The problem is, this problem happens randomly and is difficult to predict when it will happen enough to reproduce it. Sometimes it wont happen for a day or so, sometimes it will happen 4-5 times in 1 day.

I have this, or a very similar problem, with signed messages. I've never received an encrypted message, but my guess is the problem will appear in that case as well. With display attachments inline enabled, I can see the whole message in preview or in its own window, including the PGP signed plain text message body. With this view option disabled, nothing shows except a signature. When I attempt to reply to the message, all I see in the compose window are a few lines from the header, such as date/time, from, and a MIME information stamp. None of the message body is quoted in the compose window. It would seem during the reply process, some code is not properly processing the PGP/MIME attachments and is simply discarding them, or, it is purely ignoring the attachments from the get go, even though the entire message body is one of said attachments. On advice, I installed Enigmail and GnuPG in an attempt to fix the problem, but the reply-quote problem still persists for PGP signed messages (and likely for others). Again, I only have this problem with multi part signed messages. As you can see in the email itself, my friend apparently doesn't have this problem. He's on a newer version of Windows, and I don't know if he's IMAP/POP or what he uses to grab/store his mail. Yes, they do. Signed mail arrives with two attachments. The first is "Part 1.1.2" which is the PGP signature and the second is "Part 1.2" which contains the following: - -- Spam-l mailing list Spam-l@spam-l.com http://spam-l.com/mailman/listinfo/spam-l The actual message contents show inline for me with no problems. They always have for me even before I installed Enigmail. (In reply to Ludovic Hirlimann [:Usul] (away until August 5th) from comment #8) > This could be duplicate of bug 313401 thoughts ? No. That bug is for problem with HTML mail(multipart/related), Simple HTML mode, and <html> tag with attribute value. If mail of multipart/mixed { text/plain + message/rfc822 attachment } ), I think "quoting of original message body in Tb's Forward in inline" == "quote of text/plain part".
