User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080201 Firefox/2.0.0.12 Build Identifier: Thunderbird version 2.0.0.9 (20071031) I have three mail accounts set up in Thunderbird (assume A, B, C, with A having the default SMTP server out of the three ones set up for each account). If I go to the Sent Items folder in Local Folders (which corresponds to account B), open the message (which states that it was from the user set up for account B), then use the "Edit Message As New", it resets the From: field to be account A. If it was sent from one of the existing accounts, "Edit Message As New" should have the From: field match that existing account. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Set up multiple e-mail accounts (accounts A, B, and set A as the default account). 2. Send an e-mail from account B. 3. Open up the e-mail sent, and go to Message -> Edit Message As New. Actual Results: The From: field matches account A, not account B. Expected Results: The From: field should match account B, since that was the account that sent the original e-mail.
I can confirm this behaviour for TB 2.0.0.12. If you send an email from your non-standard mailaccount within TB and then in Send Items folder you click on "Edit Message as New" the dialog opens and the standard mailadress is preselected. It would be better if the original mailadress, you used in the original mail, is selected.
I can also confirm this for TB 2.0.0.16 (20080708). Exactly the same comments as Thorsten above, great minds think alike.
Here seems WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.3pre) Gecko/20090821 Lightning/1.0pre Shredder/3.0b4pre ID:20090821064908 Reporter,Thorsten or Otto J. Mäkelä could you try to see if it still happens with http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/thunderbird/nightly/latest-comm-1.9.1/ ?
