User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9b4pre) Gecko/2008021804 Minefield/3.0b4pre Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9b4pre) Gecko/2008021804 Minefield/3.0b4pre Currently smart bookmarks name is too long on the limited space I have for bookmarks toolbar. I propose we rename Smart Bookmarks to Smartmarks. This would also bring parity with the Livemarks name we give to live bookmarks and free up much need real estate on bookmarks toolbar. Also I propose we should have an icon, such as a star as current generic folder is very ugly on a toolbar full of favicons. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Look at bookmarks toolbar 2.See folder smart bookmarks. 3. Actual Results: Smart Bookmarks on bookmark toolbar. Expected Results: Should be called Smartmarks and have an icon

Livemarks is just the codename for the feature marketed as Live Bookmarks. I think the Places name used before was better than Smart Bookmarks, but sadly it causes problems with l10n.
You can rename it to whatever you want. Mine is called Places.
Thats fine, but I think a lot of people are going to complain about the size of the folder, especially since it has no icon. Why not avoid the complaints?
It's a goldfish blowing a bubble, though oddly I can't find my explanation of it, from back when it was used, in qbo. The alternate explanation, that it's a magnifying glass over a (rather lumpy, about to go nova) star never seemed at all persuasive to me.
We are planning on moving "Most Visited" directly onto the bookmarks toolbar, and getting rid of the "Smart Bookmarks" folder, because having to mouse into a submenu is resulting in a lot of people not using this pre-populated smart bookmark. If users find that they are running out of room, the can move, delete, or rename the default bookmarks. Overall I don't want us to introduce too much new terminology if we don't absolutely have to. >Can somebody can explain to me what >http://mxr.mozilla.org/firefox/source/browser/themes/winstripe/browser/places/placesIcon.png >is... ;) According to CVS Blame, this is an icon that beng@bengoodger.com decided at 2006-02-24 13:41 was pretty enough to land. We should remove it as part of bug 418003.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h". In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows: Tools | Message Filters Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New" Conditions: Body contains places-to-b-and-h Change the action to "Delete Message". Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top. Click OK. Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter. Gerv
