User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080201 Firefox/2.0.0.12 Build Identifier: version 2.0.0.9 (20071031) Once a message is created, pressing send results in the "sending messages" progress bar appearing. A 30-second delay is ALWAYS incurred before releasing the message and allowing the send to complete. I have checked configurations and compared with other Thunderbird users in the office and there is no difference. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.create message 2.press "send" 3. Actual Results: Sending message progress bar appears for 30-seconds and then message is sent. Expected Results: Send message should result in message being sent immediately. This works fine using another email account. There is no delay. I am using MS Windows Once Care Live security and firewall system. Have turned off the firewall and the problem still occurs.
Do you use pop3 or imap ?
Same phenomenon as Bug 374459 or Bug 389132?
(In reply to comment #1) > Do you use pop3 or imap ? > POP3
(In reply to comment #2) > Same phenomenon as Bug 374459 or Bug 389132? > Sounds exactly like 374459 (I didn't see that when I searched earlier) and I tried the suggestions - no change thus far.
(In reply to comment #4) > I tried the suggestions - no change thus far. No other garbages than tmprules*.dat in Temp directory?

It doesn't seem temp file related issue. > This works fine using another email account. There is no delay. To where sent mails are copied after send? Is there any difference in "Sent" folder among accounts?(e.g. file size, location) When problem started to occur? Will "Disable of anti-virus software" alter phenomenon?

I have two email accounts in my configuration, one to my office account (which results in the delay) that is identified by a private IP address (available via VPN) and one to my personal email (identified by URL) which does not encounter the delay.
(In reply to comment #9) Not temp related problem. Not anti-virus software related problem. >(1) one to my office account (which results in the delay) that is identified by > a private IP address (available via VPN) >(2) and one to my personal email (identified by URL) which does not encounter the delay. Different SMTP server is used when send mail? - When From: is mail addr of account (1), smtp1 via VPN is used - When From: is mail addr of account (2), smtp2 via LAN/ADSL/Dial-up is used Your "30 seconds delay" occurs at both office and home? Office only? Home only?
Yes - different SMTP. Delay occurs at both home and office for the SMTP via VPN. The SMTP via LAN (personal email) does not incur the 30-second delay.
Simply following, isn't it? - It takes 30 seconds to send a mail to the SMTP server via your VPN. How long will it take to send a mail to the SMTP server via VPN when Windows Mail? Problem won't occur on any other people's PC/OS/Mailer/Account? Problem occurs only on your PC/MS Vista/Thunderbird/Your account?
PR writes "I removed MS LIve OneCare - it was blocking the email ident port and I could not open it. Works fine with ZoneAlarm firewall." so => INVALID
