I get the Warning: Unresponsive script, if I search the very long road and change its type.

That's not a crash, that's an unresponsive script warning. If you would get a crash, the whole prorgram would disappear.

I'm not sure there's an actual bug here... seems like Google just does something that's computationally expensive, and takes a long time if your system is bogged down or slow for some other reason. Did this used to work OK?

Can you find a regression range? That is, a set of builds as close together as possible, where one doesn't have the bug but the other does. There is an archive of nightly builds available at http://ftp.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/nightly/ .

I get this warning on Firefox 3.0 beta 3 and also on every others version of beta 4 pre that i was used. But not on Firefox 2.0.0.12
