User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b3) Gecko/2008020514 Firefox/3.0b3
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9b3) Gecko/2008020514 Firefox/3.0b3

When viewing a webpage with a MJPG stream (e.g. from an AXIS 2100 Network Camera), the image stream remains active on close or browse away.

Returning to the image will open an additional stream. Reloading the page will open an additional stream.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Find an example of an MJPG: http://www.google.com/search?q=mjpg+live+demo
2. View an MJPG image stream.
3. Use the network sniffer of your choice to observe the TCP connection the image stream is being delivered over.
4. Close the tab
5. Observe the connection is still open and passing traffic.

I can confirm this running 3.0 beta 5 from the Ubuntu repos. If you open this webcam in a tab and then close the tab, it continues to download the motion JPEG stream:

I think this is pretty serious for anyone on a broadband package that limits how much they can download, as this could easily use up a lot of bandwidth without them knowing.
