User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080201 Firefox/2.0.0.12
Build Identifier: 2008021500

When a new event (entry) is added to my calendar via Lightning (talking via WCAP) to the calendar server, the reminder is not set. If the reminder is selected to be 5 or 10 minutes before the event it shows no reminder after the event is saved. To set the reminder the event needs to be reopened and the reminder set a second time.

If the reminder is for a repeating event, the reminder cannot be changed through Lightning at all. If I access the calendar server directly, the correct reminder can be set at the server and it will then show correctly in Ligntning.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create new entry in calendar. The calendar server is accessed via WCAP and is a network calendar.
2. Select reminder to be 10 minutes before event
3. Click on Save and Close

After it is saved, to set the reminder...
1. Reopen event by double clicking on it.
2. Set reminder to 10 minutes before event
3. Click on Save and Close
4. Event now shows alarm symbol on upper right hand corner and event shows it has a reminder if reopened.
Actual Results:
The calendar entry shows with no alarm symbol in the upper right hand corner. Double clicking on the entry will show that the reminder is not set as it shows "No reminder."

Expected Results:
Event reminder would be set at the time of event creation.

I am using Lightning + WCAP to communicate with a Sun Calendar server.
Popup reminders are not supported due to server limitations, see Bug 380423.

This is not about pop-ups of any kind, unless I am missing something in the terminology. This is about scheduling a new event on the calendar and trying to set the reminder time when creating the event.

The reminder time is not set on creation of the event, but it can be set when opening the event a second time, setting the reminder time, and saving the updated event.

On my server, reminders are e-mailed not a pop-up. I have no issues with pop-ups.

I just find it odd that the time for a reminder is not being set on the event create, but can be on updates.
Reopen bug for further clarification. What Lightning version did you used for testing? Could you retest with the most recent nightly build?

I am running 08.10.2008021500. Is there a more current build? I can retest with the latest version. Is there a more current build?

WCAP is enabled in the lightning.xpi builds by default now, there is no separate lightning-wcap.xpi anymore.
OK, I have installed the new build 0.8pre build 2008022620. Same behavior as reported above.
David, I cannot reproduce the bug; it works for me. Maybe it's a problem of your server version; I am running 6.2 patch level 30-something.
No comment from reporter; please reopen if this bug still happens in 0.8.
