I've an application that reads/modifies the following file:
/usr/lib/firefox/firefox.cfg

Now it seems the file's location has changed:
/usr/lib/firefox-3.0b3/firefox.cfg

I'd like to know which location will be used in the final release of firefox 3, of course it would be better to be the same as before.

No reply, INCOMPLETE. Please retest with Firefox 3.6.8 or later and a new profile (http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles). If you continue to see this issue with the newest firefox and a new profile, then please comment on this bug.
