This happens with many Mac programs. If Firefox is already running, the link is correctly opened. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

This could conceivably be an AppleScript issue.

Is this still an issue with Firefox3.0.3 ?

This is happening under Mac OS with 3.5.4. And it happens on every system. I've installed FF on three cleanly installed SnowLeopard systems, and it doesn't follow external links of any of them unless it's already running. Seems to me that SnowLeopard broke it, but maybe I updated FF at the same time.
