I have a monitor on my desktop that watches landfill constantly, and tells me its CPU usage, RAM usage, etc. The CPU hits 99% a lot of the time, and makes it difficult to work on. (It also makes it not a very good test site for people trying out Bugzilla, since it might make Bugzilla seem slow!) If possible, could we allocate another CPU to the machine? It's CentOS 4, so it would have to be rebooted with an SMP kernel after this happens.

Seth - can you ack this? Or I think you delegated to justdave at one point. Either of you?
I have no objection as long as there's sufficient resources on the box still for everything else that's on it. I seem to vaguely recall that box not having a sufficient license to do multi-CPU VMs though...
License is for a 4-way virtual SMP VM so it should be fine. Need a reboot window and I suppose Dave could do this if I'm not around.

landfill can rebooted at any time during the day, it's not a critical service. Just tell folks in #mozwebtools that you're rebooting it, if anybody's logged in via SSH.
furthermore, I'll ack this if needed given the work max is doing for us.
I'm fine with whatever. If Dave (and everyone else) thinks we should do it, then go for it.
cpu added.
