When you open a tab, you need to click on the address bar to type the URL in. Shouldn't you be able to type text into the address bar immediately like Firefox 2.0?

I changed the summary to enhance it, please try to be more explicit next time.
This being said, I don't repro under Windows XP and I doubt it would not have been seen under Vista before.
Is there anything special in your reproduction steps ? Doesn't happen for me with Ctrl+T or File/New Tab. If you are referring to another method of opening tabs, explain which one.
Summary: Address bar, open tab → Give focus to address bar when opening new tab (Fx3 regression)

By default the keyboard input isn't fixed to the address bar when you open a new tab unlike Firefox 2.0

Nope. Still not working even with a new profile and with all themes and extensions disabled.

Making a new profile means you shouldn't have any extensions or theme to disable in the first place. When you made your new theme, was your extension list empty?
