Overview: The Address Book Spec 
(http://gooey/client/5.0/specs/mail/AddressBook/AB_Menus.html) states that there 
should be a View|Stop menu item, yet it is not present.

Expected Results: The View menu should have a 'Stop' item.

Hmm. OK, is "Stop" still valid here?  Some questions:

We won't have Search for directories in the NS6 AB. That was the purpose of the 
Stop button (to stop a directory search that is taking too long)

Side note:  Will we still have the text entry field in the AB where you can 
enter names and the closest name in the selected AB is selected?  Currently the 
search text field in the AB is out of the current builds.  "Stop" doesn't work 
for this feature.  Sol, do you know this one?

The only reason I think that "Stop" would still be valid is if we are having 
"Sync".  It could be used to stop a current sync operation that is taking too 
long.  I don't know if it is possible to use the Stop button for that.

IF the Stop button can't be used for sync, then I don't think the Stop button is 
valid without the directory search.

Seems there are a few issues here:

1. I agree with Jennifer that, without directory lookup, you don't need to 
"Stop" a directory search.

2. At my request, Paul Hangas pulled the search text input field out of the 
Address Book main UI for beta 1, since we had no backend to lookup information 
in local address books. I had assumed that the ability to enter text to search 
in a local address book would be "in" for beta 2, but I admit I did not have my 
eye on this. This feature is not on the beta 2 feature list, so I dropped the 
ball here. That being said - is any work being done to look up local address 
book information from the main AB UI? This would be very useful for someone with 
many address book entries.

3. We had talked about presenting a dialog if a sync operation was going to take 
a long time. The dialog would have a "Cancel" button (which would eliminate the 
need for hooking up a "Stop" button to sync). Does anyone know whether or not 
this dialog is going to be in the product?

I don't believe Rich P. will be doing a dialog like this, but I can't confirm 
for sure.  I think the only feedback is the status bar :-(

We aren't going to have address book search.  As for the progress dialog, I saw 
a bug filed on that, I think.  I don't know whether or not it will get done.  
We've been shying away from it in the rest of the product.

OK, lets remove the "Stop" button from the Toolbar and the menu.  The 
progress (with cancel button) dialog for AB synch is a differnt issue.

To verify: So, the text edit field in the AB where you can type a name and the 
closes match in the selected AB becomes selected is out?

yes, it's out.  changing to wontfix if we're not going to do this.
