Thunderbird is the only email application that I know of that will automatically open the next message in my inbox upon deleting the one I'm currently viewing. Let me explain why this is a fatal flaw. The application still works fine, yes, so what's fatal about it? The fact that something this basic can turn away new users. I can't get average users - such as my mom and dad - to switch to superior email software such as thunderbird because when they are doing basic things like deleting messages, the program goes to next message whether you want to or not. This is very silly. I understand there are add-ons out there, I was able to find an updated add-on after digging for about 15 minutes. This however is a very simple function that should be standardized and not an add-on. It's ridiculous, like going to a public restroom and having to pay for toilet paper. Please make sure future releases contain this fix. Thanks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Open new mail message
2.Hit the delete button when finished reading
3.Message window automatically opens next message whether you want it to or not.
Actual Results:
lots of swearing, frustration, searching for a fix.

Expected Results:
close the damn message window and go back to my inbox after I hit delete.

none. this is a basic design flaw and should be fixed immediately.
