Reminders for non-repeating events or events stored in local calendar work fine. If an event in converted from a single time to a repeating event or a new repeating event is created, the reminder settings are not saved.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. create a repeating event
2. set a reminder
3. select Google calendar
4. save
Actual Results:
reminder options are not saved
Expected Results:
reminder settings should be saved

What reminder time did you set? I assume you are using the latest gdata nightly?
Please enable calendar.debug.log in the advanced config editor and check your error console. The interesting part is the XML sent to Google after you added/modified the event.
This might be fixed with bug 415742.

Today updated to the latest Thurderbird 2.0, Lightnining and GData provider. Now setting a reminder of 5 minutes on a recurring task actually did some effect. Unfortunately after switching months (remote calendar refresh?), the reminder option disappeared.
