2. Close Main Window Firefox(Browser Part)
3. Close transfer Window
4. Open Firefox(Browser part)
5. All tabs are now gone!
Actual Results:
Tabs are gone ;)

Expected Results:
I should have remembered the tabs like allways ;)
Morten: Does this issue still happen on the latest version of Firefox 3.0?

If so, does this also happen when starting Firefox in Safe Mode?

Yep still happens in firefox 3.0 :) And havnt tried it in SafeMode..
Just to make sure:
* You've set Firefox to "show [your] tabs and windows from last time" on startup?
* You don't have any other Firefox related window open after step 3 in comment #0 (e.g. the Error Console, Bookmarks Manager, etc.)?
* You don't use any sessions related extension such as Tab Mix Plus (that's why you have to test in Safe Mode as well)?

1: It allways show last time windows, turned on.

2: never have bookmarks or anything open.

3: have NO plugins installed :)
Interesting. Could you now please do the following:

1. Navigate to about:config, filter for javascript.options.showInConsole and double-click it, so that the value is |true| and the line bold.
2. Open Tools -> Error Console.
3. Close all other Firefox windows.
4. Copy all errors into a text editor (so that after restarting Firefox you can post them here).
5. Find the file sessionstore.js and copy it out.
6. Close the Error Console.
7. Make a second copy of sessionstore.js.
8. Also copy the file prefs.js and (if it exists) user.js
9. Restart Firefox and check Tools -> Error Console for further errors.

Then post all errors from the console in this bug and email me the three or four files you've copied out (they might contain sensitive information, so you might want to open them in a text editor first and overwrite the bits you don't want me to see with XXX).
okay :P got to number 3 then i ran out of the tracks? :P Which Firefox windows? and i dont see any erros beside some Google Screw up with the designs..
(In reply to comment #6)
> Which Firefox windows?

At least the one you've opened the Error Console from (and also make sure that neither Downloads Manager, nor Add-ons Manager, etc. are open).

> and i dont see any erros beside some Google Screw up with the designs..

In this case, please ignore step 4 if you don't see any errors after having closed everything but the Error Console.
cant find any of thoes files :S Vista says 0 files... with thoes names

and no errors beside google designe screwup
All of these files are in your profile folder (see <http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Profiles#Windows_Vista>). I guess Vista doesn't search that one by default.
All files mailed :)
I've received _one_ intact copy of sessionstore.js and prefs.js, thanks.
Next bunch of questions:
* Was this the sessionstore.js from step 5 or from step 7?
* Did that session actually fail to restore at step 9?
* Does the problem persist if you disable the installed extensions (Flashblock, CoolIris, etc.)?
*The session was from step 5 :)

*And The session failed..

*And dont think so also fails on a fresh install on my other laptop..
(In reply to comment #12)
> *The session was from step 5 :)

That one looked fine. So I'll need the one from step 7 as well (if the file still exists).

> *And dont think so also fails on a fresh install on my other laptop..

A fresh installation of Firefox - or a _clean profile_ (see <http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles> for how to create one)? A clean profile would be more valuable.

P.S.: Just so we know, could you also please post once again your user agent (from Help -> About Mozilla Firefox the string starting with Mozilla/5.0)?
Morten: Any answers to comment #13?
1: The File is gone :(

2: A fresh install on my other Laptop.. have 2 laptops...

3: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-GB; rv:1.9.0.1) Gecko/2008070208 Firefox/3.0.1

> 1: The File is gone :(

That explains why the session can't be restored. Unfortunately I'm at loss as to why the file disappears. Interestingly, the file you've sent me (comment #10) doesn't look quite right, either (it claims that Firefox has already shut down when it obviously hasn't). I've never seen or read about such behavior, so far.

> 2: A fresh install on my other Laptop..

I've set up a profile with the same extensions and preference settings as you've got (i.e. as per the prefs.js you've mailed me) and still can't reproduce this issue with Firefox 3.0.1 on WinXP. Could be Vista specific.

Just to be sure, could you nonetheless try a clean profile first? See <http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Managing+profiles> for how to create one. Thanks.
