Allow advanced search settings to be saved and used in future as default or a template.
Different people prefer different search behavior, some as a matter of personal preference, some as a matter of task related necessity. Several bugs talk about this [1]. Rather than debate which setting is more correct or beneficial than another, perhaps everyone could be satisfied if advanced search dialog can be tailored to the individual.
Example, in a new dialog, select and set several criteria the way you like - ALL or ANY, folder, several search criteria (including ones with empty criteria), display columns, sort of results, etc - then click a "save settings" button.
Close advanced search and reopen, you have all those settings without any hassle. "clear" should probably do exactly that - clear all settings. So maybe add a reset button to reset the panel to defaults.

Bug 125631 – mail search: default should by "all" instead of "any"

The new summary isn't bad - it is an improvement, and simple - but I think not totally what I am looking for.
original - save advanced search settings as default / template
revised - Save advanced search settings should remember last settings
Original provides a known setting on startup, and perhaps whenever I want to reset. Revised only gives me the most recent setting.
Have to think on this some more. May be a good topic for newsgroup.
