RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 420749

Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; de; rv:1.8.1.12) Gecko/20080201 Firefox/2.0.0.12
Build Identifier: Thunderbird 2.0.0.12 with Lightning 0.8-RC1

Greetings!

I installed Lighting 0.8 RC1 on a fresh Thunderbird profile, no other extensions. My remote Calendar is on a Scalix Community Edition 11.3

When I create a new event for the remote calendar with Lighting, the new event is not displayed in the calendar. When I check on the server, I see that the remote event is recorded.
However, when I choose "reload external calendars", and then switch off the display of the remote calendar and then switch the display on, the new event appears.

There are no error messages in the JavaScript console.

Hope that helps & keep up the good work :)

Regards,
Lars

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a new event, save it to webdav calendar
2. There is no error message, but the event is not displayed in the calendar view
3. Check on the server (webmail gui): the new event is in the calendar
3. Reload external calendars, uncheck and re-check the visibility of the remote calendar
4. The new event appears in the calendar view
Actual Results:
New events saved to a caldav calendar are not displayed in the calendar view unless the calendar is reloaded and switch off and on again manually.

Expected Results:
New events should be displayed immidiatly.
Duplicate off Bug 420749?
Maybe related, but I am using the same instance (and only this) instance of the client!

A naive user might conclude that his input is lost without warning.

This does sound very much like bug 420749, except that for me that bug disappeared as of RC1. Is the calendar cached? Does the event appear in the UI if you reload external calendars twice, without switching visibility off/on?
The calendar is not cached.

But yes, the events appear if it reload twice without touching visibility.

Two more things to complete the description here:

On my system it does not matter if the calendar is cached or nor, the problem and the workarounds are the same.

The problem does not occur with Lightning 0.7
