sorry i must suggest the severity of this be raised. http://www.metropol247.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4406&hilit=exe this occured to someone on a forum i frequent, as useless as the dialog is it can be very dangerous with only a few wrong clicks breaking windows. whether this is a bug in windows strikes me as irrelevent, firefox should aim to blacklist exe files from being able to trigger this window.
Probably, this was fixed by bug 464194. -> WFM If you can still reproduce this bug, please reopen this.
