Bookmarks nested 3-4 levels deep can be hard to reach. Submenus open fine to the right as they overlap their parents. But when at level 3-4 submenu opens to the right there is a gap between it and it's parent. Navigating to bookmark requires pointer going over that gap. Unfortunately under that gap is grandparent menu, so navigation results in closing submenu and parent menu and returning focus to grandparent. Gap can be jumped with really quick movement but noting near normal usability.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make sure you have enough bookmark subfolders (3-4) so one of the submenus opens to the left instead of right.
2. Try to navigate to items in submenu that opens to the right.
3.
Actual Results:
Submenu closes, it's parent closes, focus is transferred to grandparent menu.

Expected Results:
Focus is transferred to item in submenu.
There are errors in description line 2 and in step 2. When referring to the problem submenus, they are submenus that open to the LEFT.

I really can't reproduce this in ways that are significantly different from Firefox 2; this doesn't block.

You should add multiple subfolders to each folder until menu opens to the left. Then, you should try to open any subfolder other than first, you probably wasn't able to reproduce it because first subfolder always works.
Here's a dummy bookmark file for target practice, to avoid boredom of manually building one. When testing don't rush through menus and test several times :)
I definitely see the bug also in FF3 after only one day of use, whereas it didn't exist at all in FF2, which I have returned to. But it is on a X20 notebook with only 800x600 screen resolution; I will check a higher resolution monitor later. The problem bookmark is 4 levels deep, and the folders open left-right-left from the first level.
And I see the same problem on my ThinkPad X60 at 1024x768 resolution, so the screen resolution does not seem to affect it. But I have my Bookmarks menu positioned toward the right of the screen, which probably affects the direction (left or right) that the sub-menus open. But I don't want to change that.
Okay, I see this too, but it's a bit weird. When I first tried to reproduce it, I had my screen resolution set low (below 1024) so that it'd be easier to trigger an open-on-the-left. In that case, my 3rd and 4th-level menus opened on the left without any problems. I later set my resolution to 1024x768, and in that test, only the 4th-level menu opened on the left, and that's when I saw the gap.

I found the bug that regressed this, but it turns out that another bug had already identified the source of the regression as well, and since that other bug's discussion is slightly more detailed, I'm going to dupe this to that, even though this is slightly older.
