I am not running extensions

I upgfraded to firefox on 7/3/08. Aafter upgrading it still does not save the ID or password

You still haven't provided any details. What exactly is happening (or not happening)? What are you doing? On what sites?

Since you're running Firefox 3 now, please attach some debugging per http://wiki.mozilla.org/Firefox:Password_Manager_Debugging

After I log into Firefox by typing in my ID and password, I request it to save ID and password, it does do it; when a re-enter Firefox each time I have to type in the ID and password.
