Build Identifier: Version 2.0.0.12 (20080213)
If you get an iMIP invitation containing non-ascii utf8 characters, Lightning garbles them in the created event. (You see the two bytes of the utf8-character interpreted as iso-8859-15).
If you import the iMIP-attachement as an ICS-file, the utf8-characters are correct!
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. see above
Actual Results:
garbled special characters
Expected Results:
nice german umlauts. ;-)

Sounds like a duplicate of Bug 357172.
Please retest with a more recent Thunderbird nightly build.

OK, you are right. Damn, I searched for iMIP and UTF and the search didn't spit out this bug.
